Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20 1964. She is an American politician. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female elected vice president and she is also the highest-ranking female officer in the history of America. Being a part of the Democratic Party, she was the attorney general for California between 2011 and 2017 and was a United States senator representing California in 2017-2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was recruited to San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Later she became the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected district attorney of San Francisco. In 2010 Harris was elected Attorney General of California and was re-elected in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the 2nd African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate. As a senator, she advocated for reforms to healthcare, federal de-scheduling of cannabis, a path towards citizenship for immigrants without a legal status, the DREAM Act, a ban on assault weapons, as well as progressive tax reform. She is most famous for her direct questions to Trump administration officials in Senate hearings.
