Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the business. One of the show's original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank to date. In February 2020 Corcoran was involved in 53 deals, the largest being a $350,000 deal that was able to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids born to a working class Irish-Catholic couple in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father through Corcoran's childhood. At times, her family relied upon deliveries of food for free from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father as a man who occasionally consumed too much alcohol and treated her mother with disrespect and sneer, especially when he was drinking. Corcoran was a troubled pupil throughout her schooling. Corcoran later found out that she was dyslexic. Corcoran was educated in an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
